For 22 years, I have owned and operated a CPA firm, Gremmer and Company, in San Antonio, Texas that has worked primarily with business owners in the areas of business management and business taxation.
Prior to that, I worked as financial controller of a 100-employee manufacturing business, Alcor, Inc. While at Alcor, I was one of five members of the company’s strategic planning and management team. It was during this time, that my interest in strategic management, business competition, and decision-making took root.
Throughout the years, I have attended many national level seminars and conferences focusing on strategic planning for business managers.
I completed my formal education in the early ‘90s by earning a Masters Degree in Business Administration. This masters program that I attended was presented from the decision-making perspective of corporate CEO.
What I have determined through my education and experience is that small business ownership offers great opportunity for those that are prepared to manage effectively. What I have also determined, however, is that very few business owners are actually prepared to capitalize as business owners and managers. Success in business requires much more than knowing how to produce and deliver a product or service.
In developing our Manage Advantage Workshop, I have been determined to translate all of the managerial methods taught to and used by corporate level managers into the language of the entrepreneurial business owner and operator. This is new ground because, until now, most entrepreneurs have been left to sink or swim with their own intuitions and stubborn desires.
The purpose of our Manage Advantage Workshop is to teach entrepreneurial managers to manage effectively … because effective management, not intuition and stubborn desire, is what creates successful enterprises.
